National Ralph Harris Award

INSTRUCTIONS FORM   APPLICATION FORM

Application deadline to the District is May 1, 2008.

Speed the Light would like to give appropriate recognition to those students who sacrificially give so that our missionaries can receive the "essential transportation and creative communications" equipment necessary.

The candidates, ages ranging from 11-23, must be nominated for this award by the student’s pastor or youth pastor.  The pastor or youth pastor that submits the students name must fill out an application and write a letter certifying why they feel the student is deserving of this award.  The application and letter should then be forwarded to the DYD.

The DYD will receive all the candidate’s applications and letters from their prospective districts.  The DYD will then choose up to 5 applicants from his/her district, that they feel deserve this award, and submit them to the National Speed the Light office along with a letter of recommendation and $20.00 for each application submitted.

The letter from the pastor should state the following things.

  * Goal the student made.

 * Why they made such a goal.

  * How they raised the Speed the Light gifts.

  * Any specific challenges the student encountered while raising their faith promise.

  * Creative ideas the student had to raise the money.

  * Limit the letter to two pages.
